Since 1977 Julia Hill has worked out of her spectacular SoHo loft producing hand painted and dyed silks and textiles. Her pieces have sold at Barney's nationwide, and appeared in numerous gallery exhibitions including Julie's Artisan Gallery on Madison Avenue.

Julia's work is in the permanent collections of the American Museum of Art and Design, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin.

She has been featured in books and articles, as well as TV interviews in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Her work spans over 30 years and strongly draws on her appreciation for nature. During this time she has also built, grown, and maintained two gardens which serve as a source for her inspiration.
In the 80's and 90's forty songbirds were housed and raised in her SoHo loft.
Julia pays homage to her feathered friends by recreating them on silk and in ceramic.

Since 2013, Julia has expanded her creative medium and ventured into the three dimensional to create objets depicting her favorite subject; nature and all the beauty and oddity that it encompasses.

The ceramic works are scaled models for fountains and sculptures imagined as installation in public spaces and gardens.
